CityView, together with Red Oak Investments, recently revealed a Shepard Fairey mural on the west- and south-facing walls of its Baker Block development in Costa Mesa, California
The mural covers 8,000 square feet and is the largest of its kind in Orange County. The company partnered with the street artist, graphic designer and founder of OBEY Clothing to create the design in April and finalized the concept in July.
The design, which calculates at 136 feet long by 55 feet high, features a variety of different visual elements and themes such as surf culture, floral patterns, mandalas, water, geometric lines and shapes, nature, wings and a female figure.
“We are very excited about the Baker Block project and feel that it perfectly captures Costa Mesa’s eclectic culture and independent active spirit,” Sean Burton, CEO of CityView, told Multi-Housing News.
“This ethos is then brought to life in the one-of-a-kind Shepard Fairey mural that faces the 55 freeway. Most importantly, however, the project helps alleviate the lack of housing in the area brought on by a strong local economy and gives residents easy access to jobs, transportation and countless entertainment, dining and shopping options.”
A Look Inside Baker Block
Located at 125 East Baker St., Baker Block is going to feature 240 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units, plus lofts, ranging from 591 to 1,574 square feet.
In addition, interior features include stainless steel appliances, french door refrigerators, quartz slab countertops, porcelain backsplash, brushed chrome Moen faucets, ENERGY STAR washers and dryers, oversized soaking tubs, wood plank-style flooring, walk-in closets, energy efficient windows, USB charging outlets, private balcony/patios and key fob access.
Residents also have access to amenities like:

125 East Baker St., Baker Block is located less than a mile from music venues, a local dining scene and popular shopping destinations. Moreover, Baker Block is scheduled for completion in November.
